{merry.christmas}

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.

We had a great day here in the Loveless household.  Complete with lots of presents (see picture below), good food, and the First Annual Holiday Wii Bowling Tournament.
Congrats to Barb, our 1st Place Winner!
Momma made me wear it...
I am pretty cute, though.

Weekend Update

Saturday we braved the cold and went down to main street for the St. Charles Christmas Festival.  We had lunch, saw Santa's from all over the world, listened to some Christmas carols, drank hot chocolate and did some shopping.

Brody is all bundled up in the baby Bjorn, he actually stayed surprisingly warm in there!
On Sunday, we visited Susan, Kevin and Baby Emma.
We had lunch and had a nice time visiting.

Here is a peek at our Christmas card.  I had them printed, but still haven't actually gotten around to addressing and mailing all of them.  A few of the out-of-town cards went out today, but I'm most likely not going to get the rest out until after Christmas.  Better late than never, huh?!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

2 months

How can he be two months old already?

We have settled into a very nice schedule in the Loveless household.  He is still sleeping through the night, is up (on his own and happy) around 7 am, eating every three hours, and going to bed about 9:45 without a fight.  I can put him down in his crib, and he usually goes right to sleep.

We have started working on a bottle every so often, as I am going back to work in just about 3 weeks.  He does really well with it, once he figures out what it is!

He is a very happy baby, and smiles at everyone.  He loves his playmat and lays on it, squealing and laughing.  Best.invention.ever. (Thanks Heather!)

Daddy likes to make Brody's hair stand straight up.
Brody doesn't look too happy about that! Would you?

2 month doctor's appointment

Not too happy about those shots!
Brody had his 2 month well-baby checkup today.  He received a great report from Dr. Agolia.  He weighs 10 pounds, 15 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long.  He is in the 36% for weight and 76% for length.  Dr. Agolia used these percentages along with me and Cody's height and predicted that Brody will be approximately 5'8".  I hope he stays long and skinny, 5'8" isn't very tall!
He had his first immunizations today.  There were a few tears (from him, not me), but overall he was a champ.  Today he got the HiB vaccine and the Pneumococcal (Prevnar) Vaccine.  I have decided to space out his immunizations, otherwise he would have had to get 5!   We have an appointment to go back in one month for 2 more.

Eight

I can't believe my baby is already 8 weeks old. It just doesn't seem possible.
I've been doing such a good job holding my head up that momma & daddy put me in my Bumbo seat.

I didn't like it too much!

We finally got around to putting up the Christmas tree.
He's on a step ladder.  It makes my tree look really short!

St. Nicholas came last night and left Brody some books for being such a good boy!

Social Butterfly

We had a visit from Grandpa...

Santa

We took Brody to Alton Square Mall to see Santa today.  This was a much more successful trip, as there wasn't a huge line to wait in.  Assuming that Santa didn't mind a little baby puke, that is...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
My momma and daddy had a great turkey dinner with my Grandma, Grammy, Pa-Pa and Uncle Jeff.  We had fire burning in the fireplace, I watched everyone eat turkey, we celebrated Pa-Pa's birthday, and finished up the evening with several games of Wii Bowling.  I think it turned out to be a successful day for my first thanksgiving!

one minute at a time

For those of you who know me well, you know that I had planned out just how my labor, delivery and recovery were going to go.  What is it they say about the best laid plans?!  Now that I have a c-section and a full 6 weeks of recovery under my belt, I am beginning to regret that full marathon I signed up for when I was 38 weeks pregnant.  October 23, 2011 will be here before I know it.

My biggest fear about needing a c-section was how long it would take me to get back to running again.  I already had to give it up during the majority of my pregnancy thanks to a potential placenta previa, and I knew that I was going to have to start from square one.

Square one was today.  Last thursday I had my 6 week check up.  The doctor said everything looks great and that I could go back to my exercise routine after sunday (which was the official 6 week date).  So today, I bundled up the baby and loaded the jog stroller in the car.  I had just planned on going on another walk, but I figured what the heck.  I walked about 2 minutes and then tentatively started jogging.  I ran for 1 minute, then walked again for 2 minutes.  Repeated x 20 minutes, then I finished up by walking the remainder of the 3 mile loop.

So, was it easy?
Nope.

Did it hurt?
Not as much as I expected.

Am I going to be sore tomorrow?
Absolutely.

What I do know is it's going to take me a long time to get back in shape!

Bass Pro Shop

Clarksville, IN has the best Bass Pro Shop I have ever been to.  So, of course we had to take Brody there.  It was all set up for Christmas and was really pretty.  Santa was there, and we decided to get Brody's picture taken with him. This was my first Mommy FAIL.  Santa didn't arrive until 12:00, and when we got there at 11:50 there wasn't anyone around, so we walked around the store for awhile.  I didn't know there would be a mad rush, and we ended up standing in line for an hour, just for a picture!
