Sleepyhead

Brody has found it is much more fun to play in his crib instead of sleeping.  This is how we keep finding him in his bed.  He has played himself asleep.   Too cute.

Brody's First Tooth!
Unfortunately, he cut said tooth by gnawing through his crib rails...
B didn't want to do things the traditional way, so he cut his teeth on top instead of on bottom like normal babies!  The tooth picture was about a week ago, since then the second one has started coming in, but I haven't been able to get a better picture of it yet.

9 month check up

Here's Brody's stats from his nine month check up...
16 lbs, 5 ounces -- 2nd Percentile
29 inches long -- 74th Percentile
I forgot to bring in his pacifier... he was not too happy after getting his shot!
We got a good report from Dr. Agolia.  He was happy with his milestones and even his weight.   Brody is finally following the growth curve for the 2nd percentile, so as long as he stays at least there the doctor isn't concerned.  We also got the go ahead to start eating other foods.  The only thing we have to avoid is honey and fish that contains mercury.  Brody has been loving it because he is much more interested in the foods that we are eating than all the mushy stuff I try to feed him!

We don't go back for a well-check until our 1 year appointment.  Unfortunately, that will be here before I know it!

{nine months}

Yesterday my baby turned nine months old.  Nine whole months… that means he has been an 'outside baby' longer than it took to "cook" him.  Well, almost.  I try to forget that time where he was so comfortable that he decided he wanted to stay put a few days longer.

Here is Brody nine months ago...
and now...
He is turning into such a little boy.  He's not my squishy little baby anymore.   He knows what he wants, and will work to get whatever it is he sees.  He gets upset when you take a toy away from him, and he is just starting with a little separation anxiety when he sees Momma but I'm not holding him.

He has been 'cruising' (walking while holding onto the furniture) for a few weeks now, and will walk while holding onto our fingers.  He hasn't wanted anything to do with crawling... until today, that is.  Today he started a funny crawl/walk/scooting thing that gets him where he wants to go.
on the move!
He has been eating 3 meals/day and continues to nurse every 3 hours during the day. He loves all the fruits and a chicken/apple/sweet potato mixture that he can't get enough of.  He is also interested in everything we are eating.  I think he is finally starting to put on weight.  I will be curious what he weighs at his 9 month check up on Thursday.

Brody has a new "camera face"
and this is his "quit taking my picture face"

Burning Up...

We made it almost 9 months without getting sick, however all good things must come to an end.  Last weekend, Brody had his first fever.  He started off a bit fussy at Caleb’s Birthday Party, and ended up with a 102.8 degree fever by that night. Motrin was helping to keep his fever a little lower, but he was still pretty miserable.  Sunday we thought a dip in the cool pool water would help.  He didn't want anything to do with it!

Monday we went to the pediatrician, and he said he thought it was a virus, or maybe Roseola.  He told us to keep treating the fever, but not to be surprised if Brody ended up with a rash by Tuesday or Wednesday (this is the classic symptom of Roseola).  Well, sure enough Wednesday night I came home from work to this…
Covered in a rash, but feeling better!
Poor baby... but after a few days he is finally back to his old self!

Caleb's First Birthday Bash

Last weekend was Brody’s buddy Caleb’s First Birthday Party.

(it is impossible for them to look at the camera at the same time)

He had a John Deere themed party:

Wendee’s Baby Shower was John Deere, so she continued that theme for the party.  Here is a flash back to a little over a year ago…

And Caleb at 1 Year Old…

Yum Cake…

Brody was a little overwhelmed by all the people
but overall we had a great time helping to celebrate Caleb’s special day.

Happy Birthday Caleb!

Father's Day Four Wheeling

For Father’s Day, the boys all took their toys four-wheeling.

Luckily, everyone came back in one piece… the Jeep’s on the other hand, weren’t as lucky.  The “Strangler” has a broken transmission, which led Cody to have a not so happy father’s day.
----------------------------------------
While daddy was out on the trail, we tried to take some pictures to make him a present, but Brody was much more interested in eating the letters than having his pictures taken!

Ultimately, we ended up with a crying fit and nothing good enough to put in our frame for daddy.

Well, at least we tried!
