Disney on Ice

last saturday {march 1st} we went to Disney on Ice.

we brought grandma with us and had a great time. 

i bought "cheap" tickets, which ended up being in the club level.  that doesn't mean much if your not at a hockey game, but we were dead center and had cushy seats. sounds like a win to me.

the show was called 'passport to adventure' and took you on a vacation tour of some of the Disney movies.  first stop, africa.

i'm pretty sure grandma & i loved the show as much as brody. i'm kinda a sucker for disney, and am a tiny bit jealous of the talent of the performers.  disney does everything well!

we ended our day with lunch at lions choice, with grandma.  

that meant ice cream for dessert.

eating ice cream cones takes talent...

we are still working on developing that skill, but practice makes perfect

lately, there has been...

culver's dates,

treadmill running & parenthood watching,

curtain hanging, 

cookie baking, 

movie watching, 

more treadmill running, 

snowy/slushy park running,

and coffee drinking, all while wishing for spring... 

we are SO over being cooped up inside.

spring snowpocylpse 2013

st. louis decided to welcome in spring with a blizzard.  

now, i'm game for a big snow storm (in winter)... but the first week of spring?! come on mother nature...our little family is ready for some sun, warm weather, outside play time, and prime running weather.  

the positive aspect of snowpocylpse 2013 is that brody got to wear his boots and snow suit one more time and build another snowman.  he was so sad when the last one melted away.  

 we measured 13 inches on our deck in the back yard.

 this is a record for st louis, the most inches in one single storm.  and this is the most snow we have seen since 2010.  that winter we had a lot of snow, but over the course of several days, not at one time!

apparently snow tastes good.  

   some of the snow drifts were up to b's waist!

 of course, our forecast has us in the sixties for easter weekend.  bye bye snow.  you were fun while you lasted.  bring on spring!

easter egg hunt

today we attended brody's second easter egg hunt at rotary park.

 last year he wasn't quite old enough to understand what was going on.  this year... well, he thought he was a pro.  

we asked b how many eggs he was going to get... his answer?  

"all of 'em". 

he's a funny boy

b and his egg haul.  he did pretty well.

"look momma, i won a prize".  

and all the other eggs were full of tootsie rolls.  b said "mmm, candy momma".  

overall, the egg hunt was alot of fun.  we sure wish we didn't have to be so bundled up this morning, but since we are going to be getting a snowstorm tomorrow, we are okay with that.  come on spring, don't you know we are ready for you?!

snow day

well, it decided to finally act like winter around these parts. after 70 degree days in january and february, we were ready for some snow. the good news... brody and i didn't have anywhere to go. we stayed inside and watched the snow come down, baked cookies (ok, put frozen fundraiser cookies in the oven), watched disney movies and finally headed out for a short while into the snow. b wasn't too sure of the snow right away, but by the time we went in I had to drag him kicking and screaming. poor kid...he's waited almost 2 and a half years to play in snow like this! thanks again to grandma for last years snow suit and sled. It's nice that we finally got to use it!
